DVLA looking for info

A letter came from the DVLA asking for the engine number, chassis number, reg number, colour, etc.

Is this normal?

I know a few people who have had them recently. It was due to the new MOT system. The DVLA then compares what was written on the new MOT with that on the V5C. In both cases (both pre VIN cars) the MOT showed a different number - the engine or car number, not the chassis number on the V5.

I'd check your MOT, my GF has just received an updated MOT cerificate from Swansea to regularise the data.

Thank you for returning the form duly completed, we have some good and bad news for you.

The good news is that the engine fitted to your Cerbera is a V8, which is stolen and we need returned!!

The bad news is it should be a Speed 6 of which we have found with a hole in the side where the con rod tried to escape! Hahahahahaha, OK not funny. again
