Dashboard fixing

Anybody know precisely where the dash fixing is at the air-vent end is supposed to be? I think mine must be missing because My dash is not secrely fixed at that end - I cant feel anything through the left-hand air vent hole. I think the Bible mentions a wing nut?

Just behing the top left corner of the LH air vent on veneer panel - dash seems to stay in without the M6 wing nut - should be a short threaded stud on the back of the dash that goes through a slot in the dashboard panel - held in place by flat washer and wing nut.

None on mine - just the two screws above the steering column. I think the 'air vent' one must commonly fall off and disappear into the black hole above the transmission tunnel.

It's only epoxy'd on so mine came off when the dash came out...still sits nice and snugh though without the nut.

Same here - only two screws holding dash in place.
Whilst on the subject, anyone have a foolproof solution for sqeaking dash syndrome? Tried squirting Mr Sheen around the edges, but only silenced it for 100 miles.
