The Super Aguri Formula 1 team today announced that Anthony Davidson will become the team's race driver alongside Takuma Sato. After five years of testing in Formula One and three races Davidson will finally get the chance to prove himself as a race driver in F1.
Davidson joins Super Aguri from the Honda Racing F1 Team where he has held the position of third driver since 2004. Anthony has consistently topped the timesheets of the Friday free practice sessions during Grand Prix weekends and tests and he played a pivotal role in the steady improvement which led to the Honda team's first win in Hungary this season.
Davidson was obviously please with his contract at Super Aguri. He commented: "This is a great opportunity for me and I'm really excited about my first full season as a race driver in Formula One. I'd like to thank everyone at the Super Aguri team and Honda for giving me this chance. I'm looking forward to working with everyone at SAF1 - I've been impressed with the improvements the team has made through the 2006 season, and I can already see from my first visits to the factory that the team is very hard-working and highly motivated. I can't wait to get started!"
Anthony's Formula One debut came in 2001 as test driver for B·A·R Honda whilst also competing in the British F3 Championship, finishing as runner-up in his rookie year to none other than his new team-mate for 2007 at SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM - Takuma Sato. Anthony drove in two Grands Prix for the Minardi F1 Team in 2002 and also in the 12 hours of Sebring, Le Mans 24 hours and Petit Le Mans (Veloqx Prodrive Ferrari GT team) in 2003, all whilst undertaking his testing duties at BAR Honda. Anthony secured his position as Third Driver for BAR Honda in 2004 and drove at the Malaysian Grand Prix for the team in 2005.

The Honda Racing F1 team today announced that Christian Klien will replace Anthony Davidson at the Brackley-based Formula 1 team. Earlier today it was announced that Davidson will join Super Aguri as the team's race driver.
In 2007 Honda will have Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello signed as their race drivers. Christian Klien will become the team's test and reserve driver, while James Rossiter steps up to the role of the team's official test driver.
Christian assumes the lead testing role from Anthony Davidson, who has secured a race seat with the Super Aguri F1 Team next season. The Austrian will join the Honda Racing F1 Team when winter testing gets underway from the end of November. In addition to his regular testing duties, Christian will attend Grands Prix with the team and will be on stand-by if required to substitute for either race driver in a Grand Prix at short notice.
Commenting on his new role as Test and Reserve Driver with Honda, Christian Klien said, "I am very proud to be joining the Honda Racing F1 Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for me to work with one of the top manufacturers in Formula One and alongside two of the best race drivers."

Now that Klien has gone to Honda, does this mean that Paffet is in the race seat at Spyker alongside Albers?
That would mean 4 Brits on the grid, 5 if Mclaren sign Hamilton as their second driver.
