I'll be surprised if they can find a part to replace on Chilli's that hasn't been already.

I believe its a last ditch attempt to hedge customers. Something to do with cutting corners?

Yeah should have thought about it before I gave him a shout.

we regretto announce that the factory has identified a potential defect with your machine whereby under certain circumstances the air filter retaining screws may work loose and in rare cases, fall out, potentially getting caught in the throttle valve and preventing it from closing properly

Thank god it didn't happen at a ridiculous speed on track eek

On the plus side at least I get a new free filter fitted.

Yeah, cause that's exactly what I'd go for when nailing the brakes into a corner only to find the throttle still wide open. Sounds good on paper.

Cheers Mark,
Any chance they'll provide a replacement bike for the duration, or is it a 5 minute fix?
Cheers.

Don't think it will take long. I know my dealer provides courtesy bikes.

There's probably more chance of your local grease monkey getting loctite threadlock in your throttle than the original screw jamming your throttle open

Nick,

I've got a recall on the R1 for the Throttle Position Sensor and they want the bike for the day, although I am having the 24,000 mile service done at the same time. My dealer normally charges £10 for the loan bike which they say pays for the insurance for the loan bike.....more like getting more money out of you rolleyes

Hmmm, don't mind that too much. It's the fact that I'd have to wait 3 weeks to get it in for a service, so hopefully they'll squeeze this in sooner than that.
