I'm looking at buying a second - hand bike engined car for sprints & hillclimbs, and would appreciate any advice from anyone with experience of different makes; at the moment I'm looking at Stuart Taylor Pheonix, (which I think has been through a few revisions - any comments on the different versions?); also their Locoblade; MK Indy also comes to mind, what else?
- Budget probably around £6 - £8K for a complete car, I'm intending to probably start with either Honda Fireblade, Kawasaki ZX9R, or Yamaha R1 engined car and see how far I can reasonably go with that next year, before thinking about big money Suzuki etc. engines.
Competitive (and reliable!) is the main criteria, not too worried about shiny; any thoughts folks?

Best to find out what is currently competitive in your class.

All very good folks, though I wasn't really inviting "for sales" (nice car tho, looks a bit too pretty for throwing at the scenery!) - and I pretty much understand the classes I'm likely to be in - but how about some informed views re the various types / makers?

Cheers!

There are normally a few "class C" RGB Furyblades for sale, many are road registered, and less than £10k. They will be great for sprinting, and will also be eligible for circuit racing in the RGB. Most class C Furyblades will run at least mid-field if you are a half decent peddlar. Call Martin Bell at Fisher Sportscars for any info. I have had one and can vouch they are fantastic fun.

Can you use a mid-engine setup for what you want to compete in? If so suggest you talk to Russ at furorecars.co.uk. I've seen his original car & I understand he's in the latter stages of producing a ZZR1100 engined kit which will be a lot quicker than any seven clone & can be produced for less than £8k!
Cheers Trev
