Sounds like the coil to me.... or it could be the plug extenders.

the buzzing is most likely the fuel pump...normal i'd think!!

If you fancy a drive get it to Automedon in Blackpool, they will sort it no problem, just a bit of a drive though.

Follow the wires from the lambda sensors on the exhaust. You will come to a white block connecter. Make sure there is no corrosion on the contacts. Give them a good clean & see if it makes a difference.

You say you've tried many TVR people, but have you tried Leven in Basildon, highly recommended by many on here

Mine kept cutting out while idling - ok when driving. It was the Lambda sensors. Discovered this when it failed the MOT on emissions.

yikes

I never worry about the idling, even if you get it right it won't be long before it's wrong again.

You've seriously only done 750 miles in 4 years due to such a teensy weensy defect? yikes

You need to get out more. Seriously though, the less the thing is driven the more problems. I have more niggles when I don't drive regularly than otherwise - the car does too!
Case in point - I have driven 500 miles in the Griff yesterday and today and (touch wood) it hasn't missed a beat! driving

Try getting the engine warm to a point where it idles nicely and then disconnect the stepper motor.
I did this to mine a couple of weeks back and have got a perfect idle that has not changed....it sits nicely at about 1.2k revs...if it still idles all over the place then you know it is not the stepper motor.
And i know i have got one defective lambda sensor so i cant see that being the problem...???

The car sounds like it needs a good run out. You'd be surprised how much good this can do for it. Often the best recommendation for this kind of thing and the most fun!

But if it still isn't going as you feel it should, then just take it to a TVR Specialist as it sounds like something minor, just needs the know how.

All the best. Andy

Could be a dodgy fuel pump - there's a guy selling new pumps on ebay for around fifty quid.

Would agree with this as a first step.
Drain the fuel tank if your fuel is old and replace with fresh stuff. Take it out at the weekend on some open roads where you won't have to sit still and give a good drive for a few hours.

Try changing the tune resistor to a non cat type(of course in the short term !), at least you will then know "a" direction to investigate. When my car became rather lumpy at partial throttle, running with this it was soooo smooth, so i knew it was fuelling. If you do decide to try it, do not pay anymore than 2p.
