Hi!
I'm about to import a Cerbera (I live in Sweden). I spoke with the authorities earlyer today and they said that I cannot register a TVR Cerbera in Sweden unless it's a series manufactured car. Which means a production of more than 500 units/year. Does anybody know how many Cerberas were made?
Thanks!

production started in 1996 if I am not wrong...

...so there would have to be 5000 cars for it to qualify (since the last one was sold the other month)...

I wonder if you could contact the DVLA?

How 'official' would the answer have to be?

I don't think there was anything like 5000 Cerberas ever made or probably anything like 500 made in a one single year. I stand to be corrected on this but my guesstimate has always been lower.

There has been another thread on this - it concluded from quite a good source as I recall that total production was no more than 1100.

That's bad news... there is another option for me then, but it involves lots and lots of paperwork. I can ask the authorities for a special premission, however everybody is extreamly "green" around here and a 4.3L V8 isn't exactly environmental friendly

You could just lie to them....

Also, TVR never made a 4.3

That is seriously an option... what evidence would they be wanting? I wonder if there's going to be any TVR Blackpool letterhead stocks being dumped into a skip out the back? It's not like they're going to be able to verify what you tell them independently, all they want to keep the bureaucracy happy is a piece of paper... smokin

Oh you mean the rare and much sought after Chimaera Hard Top Coupe! Call Leven Technology or BellHill Garage and you should even be able to find a suitable boot badge for it.

Why not just drive it to Sweden and not register it there?

Hi Zoltan !

YHM

As You can see in the mail its no problems to get a Cerbera in to Sweden. since the car is already registred in the EU it is no problem to get into Sweden and register it here. When I imported mine a year ago the big problem was how to get a insurance for the car while transporting it from the UK to Sweden.
Please contact me or the Swedish TVR club and we will support You, if and when You import a Cerbera.

Peppe, proud Cerbera owner in Sweden

I asked Blackpool a few months ago: how many Sagaris are made yet.

You may guess the answer I got.

A few weeks later I got mail from a London TVR-dealer . . . Well, I better not tell what he said hehe

It's a so sad really.

All I can say to all of you guys is: cherish your TVR and keep it.

I believe there are one or two Cerbs with RV8's in.

Not true there was a Rover V8 in both 4.0 and 4.3 relased back in October 1993

However, the Cerbera, which most people accept to be true as it was the first pure TVR manufactured engine, rather than a buggered-about-with RV unit was the 4.2litre AJP8 and was released in November 1994. The 4.5 AJP8 was added in 1997 and the Speed 6 in 1998.
