How do I add a photo to a 'post'?

Maybe being a bit thick here - but how do I include a piccy - jpeg, tiff whatever with a post. Can't find any reference or FAQ on the forum.
Any help appreciated!

Ok you need to use the square brackets {} but without the shift key pressed.

We nearly finished up on that road. We were on the bridge & it was monster raining. I hit some standing water, got it sideways, and just as I tried to steer into it g/f screamed & grabbed my arm! Somehow gathered it up though
