Just thought I'd drop in a quick post about my (sometimes) shiney car.

I bought some product from Nick at Maxx Waxx a while ago - Mothers on the recommendation of Nick - and have been mightily pleased.

I don't get enough time to clean the car really, due to either driving it driving or working away cry, but I'm gradually cleaning it panel by panel. And I have to say that I'm really impressed. Gradually doing the whole clay bar, scratch remover as necessary, polish/glaze and wax thing and it looks lovely (for about 5 minutes, until I take it out!).

Love the Carnuba wax paste - real depth of shine. And thanks to Nick; good service and good advice. I will get around to posting some pictures eventually...confused

Cheers Nick.

Hi Lee!
I bought it too about the beginning of this year, would definately agree with u! altho the wax is not a paste type of wax, it is a wax type of wax!! altho i though the scratch remover was a bit weak, any reccommendations Nick? wanna see my shine

Well, it was intended. This afternoon was officially classified as a 'Car Cleaning Afternoon'. However, I think I might get washed away out there!

And I doubt we'll be able to tell if any of the cars started off clean..... Looks like I'll mostly be spending tomorrow afternoon in the bar. drink

Good stuff! Drinking alone is sooo sad. beer

Yes, run done - I was a marshal and wished I was running instead as it was a really lovely day. She did OK but was a bit miffed as she didn't better her time. It was about 62 minutes.

Since then I've been out with her twice, and pushed her to 56 minutes last week. We're doing an RNLI run next weekend, but are just donating £35 quid each ourselves. Don't like swamping friends and relations with requests for cash!

How's this for sad; washed the car in the rain, then managed to squeeze around it in my tiny garage and polish AND wax it!

But Why? confused

In agreement there. I do still use some Meguiars stuff also, but that is as much because I have a stock of it that I'm running down.

I've a box of half used AutoGlym and Zymol bottles that rarely get used. Seems daft using stuff that takes longer and doesn't make the car as shiny.

True, but the Meguiars No 2 Polish seems, somehow, different to the Mothers Seal and Glaze. Haven't quite worked it out yet as I'm not sure which I prefer.

Well done to her (62 minutes, was that for a 10k??) if so it is roughly the times i have done for 10k but have upped my training to do around 55mins now and have entered for a 10k the 1st weekend in dec so will see how it goes for me in a race.

I know what you mean about swamping friends.....after raising £1025.00 for Cancer Research in the GSR i think i'll have to leave it for a year or so till i go for a charity event.

Hows this for sad............did not wash the car as it has not stopped raining all day so left the car in the garage.......hoovered the car out.......cleaned the rear screen and went over it with Meguiars plastx............cleaned the windows and mirrors and smothered them with rain.x.

Tee hee. Between us we'll have a clean car! My interior and windows haven't been touched......

Some would say that we are very, very sad. My neighbours for one.....

When/where/for what are you running? I'll probably have to stop as one of my already de-cartlidged knees is playing up again.

well i'm just going to do a 10k each month through the winter to keep me race fit (so to speak). am doing 10k on dec 3rd?? in Crowborough (where i used to live and went to school and where i met Tracie)
and will enter more early next year..............but have been seriously considering doing a half marathon as i've done the Great South Run (10 miles) and there are a couple i am thinking of next year one is Eastbourne and the other is Hastings but will only do one not both.......wont do any of these for charity.........but i have put my e-mail in to do the Great North Run next year and if i get in i'll do that for a charity (not sure which one though)
Not bad really considering i only took up jogging in January to try to get fit/lose a bit of weight and on my first few runs could only manage less than a mile before nearly collapsing, now i go out and run 5-6 miles during the week and 7-8 miles at the weekend (haven't been out this week though as i has some kind of virus at the start of the week and have only just got over it).

Impressive mate. You'll be able to do the half marathon. I used to run, but was never a runner if you see what I mean. Only did it because I was 'bullied' by a friend. Got strangely addicted though. Found that my worst distance was 6 miles; I'd slow the pace when I started doing longer distances then found that I could keep that pace for ages.

Mind you they were the old 'fit' days. Used to average 7 minutes per mile. Now can't break 9!!

But if you've done 10, and train each weekend you owe it to yourself to do the half. Jules wants to, and I'd love to do it with her, but seriously concerned about the knees. Mind you, apparently they can groe cartlidge from a small graft from the nose. How does your knee smell.....?

7 mins/mile is impressive mate, no way i could manage that, on my midweek runs i try to do an average of around 8.45 to 9 mins but my body keeps telling me i'm going too fast as i've been settled on the 10 mins/mile up to now but my overall distance average is still better than what it would have been before, i'm hoping that after a while my body will give in and allow me to keep up the below 9 min/mile. my weekend runs i usually do at a steady slower speed but can keep it up o.k
I totally agree with you about the addicted bit as i would never have thought i'd take it as serious as i do and also enjoy it aswell.
One thing i do worry about is an injury, i did a 10k earlier this year (my 1st one) and ran the last 1k with another runner that was struggling seriously with his knees (both of them) he said that they were both shot to pieces and he was due to run this years marathon (don't know if he did) but he looked in complete agony.

We were considering going for a run Sunday morning - but on balance I think that Saturday night beer will probably mean that running would NOT be a good idea....!

Oops. That's tonight!
