Hi, can anyone do me a favour and possibly take a (female) friend out for a drive in any sort of car (preferably ferrari but a masser/lambo may do). She lives in Reading, sorry but I have no idea where. She'd just really like a ride in a car of such sort and I dont have one just yet

Any help appreciated

I'm sure there are probably a few on here who might like to help, but it's getting to that time of year when a lot of people put their pride and joy to bed for the winter due to muck/salt on the roads. Of course there will always be a few die hards, so you may get lucky, but I would think that spring may be a better time to ask.

I may not be in the Reading area, but am always looking for an excuse to go for a drive. If you haven't had any takers through the winter, give me a shout. Don't have a Ferrari I'm afraid, but you said a Lambo may be acceptable.

Not yet. Phoned them after first week, but apparently they hadn't received my e-mails detailing what work I wanted done. Spoke to them again after the second week, but they hadn't done anything due to being busy doing something else. Got the impression that they might be able to start doing something by next week. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it'll be back by Christmas.

Think I will have to pay the factory a visit in a week or so, just to see exactly what they are up to and to nudge them along a bit. hehe

Hi,

I've got a good friend who lives in reading with a 360 who'd be happy to accommodate. Drop me a mail with your details and I'll pass them on as he doesn't post on here.

There aren't too many GTs in the UK (4 that I know of) which means that there aren't too many places with experience of servicing them. I am not saying there isn't somewhere, but there isn't anywhere that I know of with sufficient experience that I would put my trust in.

The other reason is that the car hasn't been used much over the last two years, so I figured the best place for it to go to make sure that everything is as it should be, before I start using it, would be the factory. If they can't ensure that it is OK, who can?

Understand it was part of the deal, the previous owner paying for the recomission of the car ? this time next year would you send it back to the factory for another service?

IIRC - Lee Cunningham has done work on your car, he has good experience with them having raced (and won?) in the GT series

Tony and I came to an agreement with respect to recommisioning the car, but it didn't have to go back to the factory. Lee has indeed worked on the car in the past, but my understanding is that he is now working for a Honda dealership. Not sure the facilities at such a dealership could cope with a Lambo. Don't know what I will do this time next year. It certainly hasn't been a cheap option sending it back to Italy, and I really would like to think I can find somewhere more local that I could trust to do a good job. Out of interest, where do you take yours?

Would you not consider Mike Pullen. He's a very nice chap and has a customer with a GT that he has been involved with since the chap bought it. Get him to tell you the story of the purchase, you'll laugh your head off.

Dear all,

Sorry to hijack the thread, but with regards to looking after your lambos, watch this space.

I have been quiet for a reason!

And Jonny, how do you know so much about every Lambo out there?

I would love to meet and just empty your head of all your Lambo knowledge.

Warm regards to all,

Alan.

Strange you should mention that, as when I dropped the Countach off at Mike's he mentioned that he looked after someone else's GT. I wasn't aware that he had any experience with them until then. Unfortunately mine was already in Italy at that point, but I will definitely be looking to Mike for future services.

(And before anyone asks, mine still isn't back from the factory, though I do believe it is all done. Just need to pay for it all, and arrange for collection!)

p.s. The new(ish) workshop at the factory does look the part.
