What a car !!

White, pcm, sat nav, heated alcantara seats and steel brakes...

The best car i have ever drove.

The noise from the engine the way it handles and the way it just goes and goes....damm i miss it already and only been out of it half an hour !

You would have to go along way to beat that car.....

Also on michelin pilot sport cups (think the M3 CSL runs on these tyres too!) they look bald before you even start ...but boy do they grip the road.

Well arived at porsche at 9am we had coffee and signed for the car my friend knows them very well and was more an informal chat amongst friends...went upto the collection area and admired the new white gt3...lovely.(a memory that will last a lifetime)...there was also a guards red gt3 with ceramics and a rollcage we met the people later on the factory tour...anyone from here ?

Had our pics taken with the car.

Then off on the factory tour...

The factory is amazing all the automation is unreal...160 cars a day is produced..

Lots of gt3 and a couple of gt3 cup cars in production.

The engine dept was the best and to see and engine in different assembly stages at different points in the line was good....2hrs to build an engine amazing...

Then we headed off to the casino part where you have lunch and we stayed there for an hour, then set off.

Got into the GT3 and started it up and we both looked at each other and giggled like school kids.

We set off on our journey home...

The car was kept to a sensible speed and rev range till approx 30 miles before eurostar tunnel we had done almost 500 miles by now and it was returning 28 MPG !!!

We got off the eurostar and we eased it up to some higher revs and it liked it very much soon up into 3 figures and climbing....

All i can say is this is 1 of the most sorted crs i have ever driven and would have to go a very long way to out do a GT3 !! I am saving up for 1 now....really have this urge for 1 ...I thought that from gt3 Mk1 to MK2 was a real jump (i know some people did like its handling) but it was a little softer but i think the new 1 is just 100% perfect in every way.....

Damm i wish i was driving it now .........

Congratulations.

The new GT3 is very cleverly packaged.

Tyres do have tread, you just can't see much of it, all tucked up in the wheel arches. Turn the fronts and you'll be pleasantly reassured. And they do work in the wet. Not sure how long they'll last though.

They work in the wet...a brave comment..unless they have drastically improved those tyres from the ones i had on my CSL?They dont even work well when they are not warmed up.On a dry hot day they are awesome but the rest of the time hopeless on the CSL and im surprised they are road legal...imo of course.eek

They are a new compound and design specifically commissioned and homologated for the 997 GT3 for road and track use. And they work reassuringly well on wet surfaces, mud, leaves and standing water. Of course, at lower temperatures and with more wear, they might be less impressive.
