I'm incredibly pee'd off in that my friggin' TechNet Plus subscription just ran out literally last week...

Anyone fancy lending me their details so I can get the RTM whilst I wait for my renewal details to go through?

I grabbed the Vista x86 and x64 downloads an hour after they were relased on Thursday night. Got x86 on the laptop and x64 on the desktop and Office/Project/Visio 2k7 on both. Can't say I've noticed any radical changes/improvements over RC2 and B2TR respectively but overall both systems are noticably more responsive and there seems to be much less disk activity.

Nice one. Bit gutted as I bought an X1950XTX last month, I didn't think the DirectX 10 stuff was out for 3-4 months!

They had a release time of 9 something UTC on the MSDN site I was looking at.

Both versions of Vista now removed from the site though?

It was there last night, but I couldn't get it as it kept giving errors when I clicked download. Now all versions of Vista have disappeared. mad

I'm running Vista on my laptop, scoring a stunning 1.0 in the performance benchmark section hehe though that's not surprising and will be replaced soon. In terms of purchasing hardware for upgrades, timing wise, what's the best option? I'll be looking for new CPU/RAM/Mobo and possibly a new graphics card too. I know OEMs are cutting prices to keep sales up before Vista is released to them in a few weeks, but does anyone have an idea of the movement of component prices in the next couple of weeks or months?

As an aside, is an upgrade to SATA drives worthwhile over standard IDE ones? I have two 7200rpm WD 8mb drives at the moment.

Opps Sorry i read that as something else

The 8800 does seem lacking in drivers, not even sure it has and xp 64 ones. Curently the best I have managed under vista is a 7950GTx, still cant get a media centre stable

Looks like I downloaded them at the right time then! Can you request your product keys?
