Manmade or natural?
Discussion
After riding quite a few of the manmade trails in Wales together with natural routes I have come to the conclusion that I prefer natural. Just don't enjoy the manmade anymore. Must be getting old but I like planning a route and reading maps, getting lost and not really knowing whats around the corner.
What do other people prefer?

Have you been to Coed-y-Brenin? That place seems to be highly rated...not been myself but I'm thinking of making the effort sometime soon and I'd be inetrested to here any thoughts from people who have been there

You could argue that all trails are manmade ..........
I enjoy and ride both types of terrain you mention. What the Forestry commision centres give you is all the best bits in one loop. I love twisty single track that I can push the limits of cornering on and these centres give me lots of that.
Out in the open countryside you often have sections which I consider boring to link the best bits together. But there is a sense of adventure and exploration when you are not riding a way marked route. You also get to ride on surfaces that could never last at a centre.
