I'm planning to do a dry run of the route tomorrow, just to check the timings etc, following which we will get route maps prepared and issued.

If anyone fancies a drive out, give me a shout

I'd be up for that! Would that be starting from Ace Cafe and what time?

I would love to come along but I think I would better off trying to press gang a few more at the revived Herts/Beds meet who I have noted are not on the list.

Well just been to Argos and got the recommended two-way radios, so we can test these also!

12.30pm at the Ace? Oh, thought you might have suggested something earlier than this, but I arrange things around that time. What's the plan, start at Ace, all the way in and back out to Ace?

Be grateful if you could pm me the route and I can start doing a virtual recon on my TomTom!

Darren

P.S. And the weather forecast is glorious sunshine. Oops, now I've done it!

I'd love to be there. Sadly I can't as I'm going to be asleep (I'll knock off work @ 08:00 this morning)

ho-hum!
Only just got back home.

Just for a change, WHITEHALL WAS CLOSED -AGAIN!!! banghead
I was pleased to meet up with Doctor_Darren and Supraman at the Ace, and we had a quick chat with the folks from the ACE. Despite Whitehal being closed, we have driven for four hours checking those parts of the route that we could, and that proved to be well worthwhile. My "taking notes whilst driving" skills have come on no-end, but i have yet to decipher them and write them up.

We have found a much better entry and departure route into and out of London than that i had originally planned, but for the second week in a row our attempts have been scuppered by Whitehal being closed.

We will publish teh agreed route, map and directions very soon - but if we can onlly get tehweather, this parade is going to be fantastic.

more to come later
cheers for now

It's relatively simple to predict that having a convoy of 300+ gas-guzzling, eco-damaging, rich-boy's toys rumbling through the center of ken livingstone's environmentally clean, congestion-controlled, sanitized city with lots of TV news coverage might be seen by ken and his cronies as definitely "off-message" and, since this event will have visibility through the MetroBiB upwards into the GLA I suspect we might find all sorts of unpredicted road blocks and event spoilers on the day.

Call me paranoid if you like but that's what 10 years of new labour and media manipulation does for you!
