VEMS is a derivation of the Megasquirt, using a more powerfull Atmel AVR micro instead of the Motorola device in the MS (it used to be called "MegasquirtAVR" when the project was first started, but it dropped the name a while back). It uses the same tuning software as the MS.

I think someone's talking about me there

I've had a VEMS in the Griff for almost a year now and it seems to be going pretty well. All-in-all, the car has improved for the work. Sequential injection and ignition with knock sensing and wideband lambda support is worth the trouble.

Have a look at www.vems.hu/wiki/index.php?page=MembersPage%2FDavidBlades for my attempt at a writeup of my experiences. It was intended as documentation so that the experts could help with my questions, but it should give you a clue as to how easy/difficult an install may be.
