Has any one a part number on one of these,(rack end)
I realize its a TVR specific rack but the uj's sure won't be.

At the risk of making an assumption, the UJs on the power rack are most definately a TVR part, so I'm ASSUMING the manual ones will be too. The rack of course is different between power and non power but all else is the same I believe.

I've been assured from reliable source that UJs on manual rack are TVR specific.

Yes they are TVR parts and are colour coded with a stripe of paint. If you can find this marking it'll make the ordering process easier.

Sorry V8sag,

It appears I have gicen you some duff info. I've just been reading S .Heath's bible and it says that the column, intermediate shafts and UJs are all different between a manual and power rack. Sorry about that!

Yes,the manual spline is 1/2",ps about 5/8",I found every thing else down here so I will go on a hunt and let you fella's know, how hard can a 1'2" splined uj be to find in the right lengths.
Interesting the rebate on the ps male spline on the earlier cars has quite a bit of play for the though bolt and the later cars have bugger all clearence, either they got what they could out of the parts bin or were confident of no tolerence.

Right, that was'nt to hard,Ive found two 42mm x 1'2" spline (centre of through bolt to centre of uj) joints to make up the 30mm shortfall of converting to a manual rack.
Word of caution, the Manual steering rod is longer than the ps one(well it is on my mates Malaysian Chim ),so the joints quoted above may not be the right sizes for replacement of original equipment, but will fit if going from ps to manual conversion.
The uj guy said there was no problem however getting replacement original sizes,so not that TVR specific.

No it's just that V8Sag lives in NZ which isn't exactly overflowing with TVR bit suppliers
. Still available IIRC.
