South-East / East Anglia Convoy

Hi all,

Just thought I'd post this with a new subject line to bring it to the attention of those less regionally orientated to look at "ESSEX"... and because "Essex Convoy" isn't quite so correct now.

So far the originally "Essex convoy" has expanded to include attendees from Essex, Kent, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and even one from East Sussex who is closer to the "kent massive" than the Sussex / Surrey convoy. The simple purpose of this post is that if anyone else coming from those regions wants to join our convoy then email me your details and I'll put you in contact with someone local who you might want to join up with and travel down to our central meeting point. I'll also keep you updated with timings and route info. Jack Valiant (aka Chris) is arranging a kent meet up the A2 and then burning through the dartford tunnel to meet us. Feel free to pop over to the kent convoy thread to contact him.

Over 50 cars planned for thurrock services so far. 1 week to go, lets make some noise!!!

I'll be driving down the A12/A130 from Ipswich with the hope of meeting the Sarf-end convoy on the A13. Anyone else planning a similar route and want to join up?

My self and Wicker Man will be coming down the A12. A usual meet up is Toys R Us at Ipswich for those coming from the North. I'm in Colchester so will pick you up when you come through. I'm guessing something like a 8.30 depart from Toys R Us. There is a thread on the East Anglian forum so keep an eye on that too.

I see that we have quite a few cars coming down the A12 now as well so would it help if we met up with them and some of the others at a location just off it say around Chelmsford? I know we have a good contingent coming from here?

yes mate, I did suggest that a few of you met at the white hart, like a typical mid essex meet but it met no response.

Evening everyone. There are now just 12 hours to go and it's looking good.

I'd just like to confirm that the meeting places and times have not changed (kent lot, refer to Chris (jack valiant) as he is your regional organiser, pre-meeting us).

Southend, TBYC - 07:30 - Leave 08:00
A13 Layby - Passing between 08:20 and 08:30
Thurrock Services - 08:45 - Leave 09:30
Ace - Between 10:30 and 10:45

Please, all of you try to get to the meet point as early as possible. I have 100 vinyls to get on your car windscreens and thats not a lot of time to do it in.

May I remind you, donation for a vinyl is £2 min to cover Andy's time and money in production and distribution, no maximum limit is set.

Just in case we get split up, I have included the maps posted by David Hughes earlier in the week.

May I remind you all that this is a very high profile event and there will be a lot of media interest, we are celebrating a marque we enjoy, not making ourselves look like angry little protesters. The police are also aware of our routes even into London starting at TBYC. We can have a little play with our cars on the open road, but myself and the other event organisers would like to see exemplary driving in the public eye. Lunacy will not be tolerated or condoned. Much of London is also CCTV controlled.
