Hi guys (and gals), hope you can help. Recently acquired renault unit for transplant and need help/advice with the wiring. The engine and all sensors is complete (ECU etc). However there are a few areas that are just multiplugs and a couple of sensors with no wires attached at all. I feel it wouldn`t be too difficult for someone who is familiar with this engine as it seems there is nothing missing. Any help with wiring diagrams etc would be much appreciated, thankyou.

Yeh, I've done that.

I unbound all the engine loom and removed all non brain wiring, which means many of the original sensors & plugs are no longer required.

IIRC inputs are air temp sensor, water temp sensor, no load/full load microswitches, map sensor, timing sensor, overboost sensor, idle mixture & knock sensor.

Outputs are coil, fuel pump, warning light.
A pair of relays to run the fuel pump.

All basic stuff.

It pretty much exactly follows the wiring diagrams in this book: www.amazon.co.uk/Automotive-Engine-Management-Injection-Techbooks/dp/1859603440/sr=8-2/qid=1170331150/ref=sr_1_2/203-4605772-7836749?ie=UTF8&s=books

Also I assume you've got the haynes R25 manual?

Hi Matt, answered your comment by e mail!! Guess you didnt get it. Anyway sorry for the delay, heads all over the place. I ordered the book you suggested and yes i do have the Haynes manuals but they dont seem too clear to me. If you can tell me the sound of one hand clapping Id be really impressed!

Nope, not received anything.
You're right, the haynes manual is difficult. The wiring diagram on P355 is the only one worth looking at, but is slightly incomplete (though close enough) IIRC.
It was quite a while ago I'm afraid, so I will be a bit rusty, but don't mind helping where I can.
