Rather urgently. Ordered some for the Griff (rear) on Monday & they still haven't arrived. Just called the lot I ordered from to enquire as to wots going on, they've been let down by their supplier. Well thanks for letting me know then
Anyway, does anyone know of any stockists in the Croydon/Gatwick areas or nearby?

Don't know what greenstuff pads are, but there is Mole Valley just outside Horley. They have a parts department

I know it's not near Gatwick, but Peninsula do Greenstuff and have always had some in stock when I've ordered them - is greenstuff vital straight away? If it's really urgent and only for the rears, what about a local ford dealership or similar and just get basic pads for the time being?

OK so its not exactly close to you, but I got mine from A.1 Motor Store Going Spare (Tel: 01372 372222) in Leatherhead (right next to B&Q).

I think they carry them in stock.

So you see Leatherhead does have at least one good thing going for it..... though A1 are not on the high street, so maybe it does have Britain's worst High street !

Do you have a Protyre place near you as they seem to stock a lot of them for the max muppet types .
Failing that check with Andy at APM at Liphook (off the A3) he fits them all; the time and could probably supply them in quick order.

BTW does anyone know if the V4 version of the greenstuff pads is a great improvement on the earlier versions that everyone seemed to slag off as I've had them fitted and am more than happy with their bite and feel, had mintex fitted before btw.

Thanks for the ideas chaps. I've already got some 'normal' pads, so no need for a trip to MV. I needed them today 'cos I've got a trackday at Goodwood tomorrow.

You mean Harry that there was a worse version of the EBC Greenstuff before the V4?

The only good thing about the V4 was the retro styled sticked that came with it.... All the EBCs I have used have been the V4 type.

Can I asume that you don't get on with them Steve .
Whilst not having used them at the limit yet, they do seem to give a better initial feel to the ones that came off the car, but then again they were starting to crumble .
As a mere boy at this game I will try a different type next pad change, DS3000 maybe .

Harry

PS having ago at bruntingthorpe next week so i'll see first hand if they work in anger so to speak

Apart from the noise, what's wrong with DS3000 pads? The best pads ever in the Cerb, just get better and better with heat

Eek! Greenstuff are simply awful
Poor when cold and last approx one trackday even with something as light as an Elise/Exige.

I use Pagid RS14s on the Exige now. I totally recommend them. They seem expensive but they last SO much longer and won't fade. I'd imagine a TVR will just eat Greenstuff in no time at all.

Its interesting to see the conflicting reports on greenstuff.
My Volvo T5 hated them .... managed to chew a setup on less than 4000 miles. My TVR however loves them. fade free braking and airfield days for the last 10,000 miles and there is still enough friction material left on them to last me until the end of the year.

I may have the wrong end of the stick here, but i wasn't implying there was anything wrong with DS3000, just posing the question so to speak that i may try them next.
Re the lotii post below has anyone tried pagids in a Tiv then, any feedback would be nice .
re weight not sure what the elise/exige weighs by the tiv comes in at around 950/1050kgs. Question.... Normally when pads last a long time it's at the expense of the discs, is that a known side effect of the pagids .

I found Green stuff to be inconsistent, eat disks like it was going out of fashion and once they got hot were useless with no recovery. They do look nice though.

DS3000 are not recommended for road use as they need heat to work. No heat means greatly reduced braking which is not a good idea when that child steps out into the road just as you have left...

DS2500 is a lot better choice.

Not sure if this is a very scientific analysis, but on the cerb I went through:

Standard...pretty hopeless all round

GreenStuff...better on road, hopeless on track days

Pagid somethingorothers...lots better on road & track

Mintex 1144...lots better again on track, but now getting noisy. But now I'm 'hooked' on pads that actually stop properly when they're hot.

Ferodo DS3000...amazing, and amazingly loud! Had been warned they wouldn't work too well cold, but they're OK. Not brilliant cold, but good enough. But awesome stopping power when hot. From high speeds you can feel them heating up and just gripping - you end up having to reduce the effort on the brake pedal. I guess maybe the thing with the DS3000 is they do need to be quite hot [or so it seems] before they really stand out, so maybe not so hot - so to speak - on a lighter car or consistently light braking.

Above was all on a Cerb, so may not apply to anything else. I've got Greens in the bike [GPPz1100] and they're just fine, but I do ride it as a wuss.

Elise / Exige is about 700-750 kg, but you'd be braking from much higher speeds in a TVR so you'd be more likely to get fading and increased wear.

Pagid RS14s are nice and don't eat the Exige disks badly, but the newer RS15s are a nightmare. They give much stronger braking, able to take temps upto 800 degrees, but they retain the heat more than 14s and get VERY hot.
This caused my disks to warp at Donington. Let them cool down and they were fine, but Pagid tell me you need disks which can handle very high temps as well if you use them. They also cause heavy disk wear.

The only down side to 14s is that they are very noisy. Squeal at low speed like crazy.

What pads do Tuscans come with anyone know? Very much considering having one sit with the Exige in the garage
