Heee saaay yair-es!

Well nice man from Chelmsford actually 'say yes'. Rode like a dream on Friday afternoon before my test, then felt like I rode like a complete plank on the test itself. Though he said I had a good ride and passed me whatever the case!

So now I am legal...as it were!

Just please don't make me ride in the rain when dark and blowing a hoolie like Friday afternoon..did not like that, one bit!

Wife is not as opposed to me getting a bike as I thought! Bit more working on it and it will hopefully be a nice easy entry...into biking that is, fnar, fnar!

So when is the new Gixer thou' coming out?

Virgil.

Well done mate, pleased for ya. Those R1's have a bit more bhp than the Gixer's, dont't they??!!

Seriously, any ideas yet?

Cheers guys...was hoping I was not going to be the Maureen of the bike world! Just got to get my Mate to pass now...he's got his next one on 14th Dec I think. Will have a ride with him if I can hire a bike from the centre for his next days training to keep him company.

Both about 180 I thought...please don't tell me the Yam is more powerfull...I'd hate to get a Gixer thou' only to find it's 2HP down on an R1

Seriously?

Need to pamper SWMBO a bit more...have drunken clearance to get a bike (not sure she knows what I want yet) but need sober clearance from her and to make sure I'm not going to be written out of my Mum's will! You wouldn't think I was 34 woud you

I like the front view (lights etc) of the Yam, but prefer the overall look of the Gixer. Also quite like the speed triple as a naked bike. Shame only the Gixer comes on that lovely satin black...

And is there a law that says all bikes have to have GOLD forks???

I ask you.

Hmmmm, Gixer, Gixer, Gixer......

Was thinking of tying a long rope to the back of it with a little flag on it so they can find it (and me) easily

I'd hang out for the '07 Gixer, then keep some money back for a full Akra' exhaust system and power commander, just to be sure you've got more power than everyone else.

Ah yes, you see with all that power I would not have to prove I am faster than anyone else, I'd just KNOW I am, therefore can pootle around like I'm a beginer, so is actually a safty feature...now where did I put Bennet's number...

Can see it now...
Name?...Captain Sensible
Passed test?...Yesterday
Bike?...K7 Gixer thou'

Actually, I think they'll have some free time....After Friday's "mauling" at the hands of mother nature, my boots were still wet this morning. Plus the fact that it was absolutely p!ssing down again this morning....I decided to get the train....Lovely and snug I was this am....Too many people, but at least I was dry.

Jesus H Christ, you're serious?! I thought you were joking. What size are your boots? If they're a 10, can I have them when you die?

I can understand why you would want a GSX-R1000. What I can't understand is why you wouldn't want a GSX-R600.

I don't NOT want one...if that makes sense.

Will invest in some gear once I get the clearance from Mrs Virgil then try a couple out for size...in all fairness, I've never even sat on a sports bike so may not like the feel of it at all...600, 750 OR litre

Also at the moment Mrs says it is Bike OR TVR...not both

How is the 750 going...still in one peice?

I was up for buying a '98 R1 when I passed my test but my instructor said 'give yourself a chance' and he was spot on.

Until you've tried a sports 600 don't rule them out. It'll be as placid as your learner bike when you want it to be and will do 12 second quarter miles when you want to up the pace.

You can kill 2 birds with one stone and go the Ally Pally bike show at the end of January where you can sit on all the bikes and get some cheap kit
