Getting a bit concerned by the plummit of prices on these
great cars, I have a '04 and paid 27.5k 6 months ago.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2002-TVR-TAMORA

Plus part's availibility ? is a worry, cracked my windscreen in
September and still waiting for 'Car Glass' to source a screen !

But then I think, what could possibly replace this car ?
(C)oxster, S2000, or what ! maybe 996 Cabby...

Only a worry if you are selling.

Definitely a problem - but I'm most worried about parts and not so much about vehicle value. I know I'll get stung when I sell, I knew this when I bought the car.

Surely for a pre-facelift 2002 model 15K - 17K is a fair price range - after all it'll soon be a five year old car - that must be almost 45% - 50% of it's new price in 2002 - or am I missing something here?

Yes - i would expect face lift models to fetch more,
just for the 'driving lights' alone ! as apposed to
FOGS !

Anyone know if there was a difference on the SLIP
DIFF side on pre-face lift models ? I know it
was a Hydratrax but I heard rumour of electonic
as apossed to a mechanical ! TRUTH

Everyone who ownes a TVR built in Blackpool will be sitting on a gold mine. In a year or so if you decide to sell, you may well be killed in the rush.[Its going to be name your price time.] Mark my words.

What you have there is one of only 400 British built TVRs.

Post-facelift cars with the quietly introduced top end engine mods will rapidly become collectors cars.

So - keep it on the black stuff and enjoy.

You're already driving a classic.

Absolutely. A fabulous car, even though as a first time TVR owner maybe I'm not that qualified to judge; looks wonderful and goes like a dream.

I know nothing of relative speed specs, so maybe there are much faster TVRs out there, but I love mine. And add in the rarity value and you've a real winner.

I was out with 40+ cars this weekend; all fine examples of TVR workmanship, and mine was the only Tamora. They don't seem to get much attention from other TVR owners, which I actually like, but I think that might change as the rarity factor becomes more apparent. Definitely a classic.

But what the hell do I know, eh?

Forget the S2000 as a replacement for your Tamora.
I came from a Chimp to S2000 (2 years) to a T350. There's no comparison.
The Honda is very much a decent car but lacks soul... And when you take it to the garage there's nothing else to look at apart from Civics awash with baby seats. Crap.

PS: I'm keeping mine too.

What's all this talk of face-lift cars being the collectors' items!
We all know that every TVR is individual so you can't generalise.
I know of a few early cars that have been altered to have face-lifted fronts.
My own car is the first customer car but now has a rebuilt, blue-printed 4.0l engine.
Hopefully they'll all be collectors' items.
Cheers..... Andrew

Well, I'd still like to sell mine for various reasons, so if anyone's interested, feel free to call or e-mail me. It'll be back up in the classifieds soon, when I can get round to knocking up the advert again! I am selling for reasons that have nothing to do with the car itself - more to do with what I want next!

I certainly hope the Tamora becomes a classic TVR - it is certainly the most under-rated TVR. I love mine, and I loved my first one, and it is certainly twice the car my Chimaera was. Tamoras deserve to be a classic car, if for no other reason than it will piss off the RV8 brigade hehe

Sorry Sen 18 must be your age - Sophia Loren then!

I agree with Nubbin the Tamora deserves to be a classic and will be BUT not for another decade or so. Why would you want to piss off RV8 owners though? Surely you don't feel threatened by them - why?

Supply and Demand, once things clear up as to the future im sure prices will climb again. There is nothing that touches these cars for the price to performance. Just enjoy

Agree with all that's been said above (apart from the bull about pre-/post-facelift cars. I mean, I own one of the b1oody things, and I hardly notice the difference).

Bear in mind it's winter now, too. Best time to buy a convertible of any description.
