Fake 993 4S seller! Says car is in London now..
Discussion
1- I found a mint condition 993 4S on autoscout24.at (Austrian car sale website). The car has ONLY 51,000Km, is packed, and instead of costing the usual 70,000Euros for a jewel like this, costs just 30,000Euros.
2- I write to the owner, but also ask around about it on German forums. Another member found the same caron ebay.de: minimum price 54,000, much more complete description and a telephone number. Clearly the real owner. I call him, and we talk about his fabulous jewel for 20 minutes, then I mention that I saw his car on an Austrian website for 30,000, to his surprise.
3- But now the Austrian website had already removed it, they found out that it was fake. It didn't stay there more than 24hrs. So, someone just copied the pictures from ebay.de and posted it on autoscout24.at website for fun. But why?
4- The answer: as I was warned on the German forums, I receive a reply to the email I originally sent to the fake onwer. He wrote half a page, talking about his car, how he treated it right for years, never drove it, but now must sell it, eventhough it is extremely difficult for him (
) because it is left hand drive. He says the car is now parked in London!!!. His German is mixed with some words of English.
But no other details. He's now waiting for me to reply, initiating an exchange, that will for one reason or the other, end up with him asking me for my banking details. I wonder what his silly plan was though.. Isn't it amazing that someone would go through so much trouble?
I never suspected that the Porsche used cars market was now being used for scams!!! Gimme a break..
So, in case you hear about this, don't bother chasing a that 993 4S that is "in London".
BTW, here's the car in question (the real one):

The car itself is everything one seeking a 4S can ask for.
