I never had time to take my 350 out this weekend. So got home early tonight to take her for a run to the gym as wanted to check all is ok for my first TVR trip on Sunday.

Water Temp! well only after 15 mins of driving temp looked 90 some think, the temp can be hard to read as there is a broken line running through LED.

So was a bit worried and took her for longer run on the way home, temp got to 70 ish quite quickly then next time i looked 90 somethink.

By the time i had reversed up drive Temp was above 100 and no fans on when i got into garage!!

Strange thing is, turned of ignition and then turned back on again and one fan came on for a couple of seconds then went off. Temp stll over 100!

Is this water temp giving me wrong reading or doddgy fan switch?

Very much be gratfull of your help

Went back into garage to check car out and a small pool of water on floor. Looks as though it was coming out of coolant expantion tank.

Previously temp reached 112 with no fans on. So my guess is it vented out of expansion tank itself, is this normal!

Took car out for another run after checking coolant level, temperature went up to 90 ish ater 15-20 minute run whilest stoping and trying to raise temp up. Again upon turnng around and reversing up drive temperature went up to 92 got out of car and one fan went on this time followed by the second at about 96ish.

Is it possible there is a intermitant proplem with fans and should temp get that high anyway in the winter! On other Temp Thread it seems the temperature itself should not!

sounds like air in the system caused by pinprick leak or coolant low. Intermittant fan problem is possible third cause. Suggest you pressure test and re-charge system. Also check water/antifreeze mix.

Possible faulty water temp sensor, I believe there are two, the one feeding the display is independent from the one controlling the fans.

I'd definitely check/change the fan relays - better to be safe than sorry. You could wire in a temporary override switch to turn them on manually, thus allowing you to use the car in the short-term.

I've just had my Water Temp sensor replaced as I was seeing temperatures up to 115C! I was also getting Water Temp and Water Temp Sensor errors. Fans were also coming on so no real problem other than the panic of seeing the high temperature.
Cheers... Andrew
