Considering getting a late model Diablo. I've had quite a few nice cars in the past (Ferrari, Porsche etc) and never had any hassle/negative reaction from people. But Diablo seems to be about as in your face as you can get...a step further. Just wondered how past/present owners find reaction to their cars (I'll take the raction of 10 year old boys as read)

Yep, I agree. I'd rate it almost as high as spotting F40.

Damm! This is not helping at all. I need help here. What are the downsides of ownership?

5 weeks and counting for a gearbox repair after 3 days of ownership ... other than that it's a stunning car

I have a far better reaction from the general public in the diablo than my previous Ferrari's......

best thing i ever did, the first time you sit in a diablo shut the door and start it you know you have to have one. i had porsche 911's before and a countach qv for 8 years but a diablo is still awesome.

14 posts and only one person has had the good grace to say something half negative. Can't you see I'm trying to get away from this? What about servicing and repair...How many proper places can you take them? I'm based in South Yorks. Is it a case of bunging it on a trailer to the South?

3 Lambo's over 10 years of ownership and NOT ONE negative comment - these cars are fairly unique in their attraction of generally positive reactions and attention! Very different to say Porsche's or Dancing Donkey's which attract more negative than positive comments.

i can't think of too much negative after 5 years, only the obvious, dealer charges, some parts cost a fortune clutches etc. i have juggled with dealers and various specialists depending what needs doing, i found a great one in hertfordshire. i can't help with back up in yorks, maybe others could advise. best advice is as usual buy the best car you can find, don't rush. some people know a lot about the cars available i spoke with jason barker ex uk salesman, he sold most of them.
