I've got it, play it once in a while although for offline stuff I prefer the Mercenaries and Allied Intent mods.

I live in in sunny Bracknell,i played on 50 klicks and kept on killing the admin and by accident a stray tank round went in to the red zone.Got kicked and tbh honest i found a good server called Candys and joined there clan.i tried 2142 just felt it was no advance on BF2 waiting for Quake wars

I play regularly, but usually on far away servers as I'm in Japan... ping to the UK is about 200. The game remains playable, but not as fun and with less kills 
Maybe we should all get together one weekend.

I play BF2, although I must admit I hevent visted the game for a few months, as at the moment I actually enjoy BF2142 more, the full game is far more enjoyable than the Demo 
Once you get into it and get a few promotions (they dont take long at all as you have to earn most of the kit, not just the guns) it gets pretty good fun. Its nice to be able to pick up the kit of a rival and actually try out whatever kit they have, even if they are several promotions ahead of you.
The support class gets a lovely little tool called an "Automated sentry gun". Does exactly what it says on the tin and will lock onto and shoot at any enemy soldier who wands into its feild of fire. Good fun for leaving down alleys
and the Walker's a huge amounts of fun in the open maps, not indestructable by any means but do tend to get enemy players initially running for cover when you first steam round a corner at them guns blazing.

I'm trying to get to 50,000 so I can unlock the Anti Tank good machine gun. I only have two to pick from and they are naff.
And now as I play as AT a lot it's a shame I didn't unlock one earlier on.
If there's a lot of people here who play, maybe we could highjack a server and get the games going.
