My meagre Britcar efforts

Sadly I'm not a big boy so can't get acreditation to shoot trackside, so the public areas have to do - so here we go, a few that I like - hurrah.

Production S1 E30 M3 at the bottom of Hailwood Hill


Vauxhall Belmont (some of you will call this an Opel Kadett)


911 in the Britcar


Busy up at Druids


Proof you don't need a Nissan 200SX to drift


Another M3 out of Druids, this time a more conventional 1/30s pan


And finally a couple with flash

911 on fire (it was - but went out within 2 laps)

Criticisms will be ignored - especially ones about the border! haha!

Look good to me, I had to shoot from public areas, albeit a nice cosy corporate box Must have been your flash going a few times that I saw...

In all seriousness, they're really nice pics, David. I like the one of the drifting M3. To be honest, there are enough places around Brands to get a clear view so a media pass isn't as important as somewhere like Silverstone, for example, that is blighted by Bernie's chicken wire. I've only had a press pass for the last 2 meetings I've shot at; all other pictures I've posted here have been from within the peasants areas.

Very nice pics. I'd be interested to know how you got the Belmont photo from behind the fence, I can never get a decent shot at that point!

Trackside - sorry, I'll call the boys off I've done half a dozen events this year from the hot side.

Marc - A long lens and the sun in the right place. You can still pick out the fence in the photo, shown as a hazy highlight or a faint dark blur.

Agree with you that it is quite feasible to take a pretty good shot through the fences, so long as your point of focus is quite a way past the wire and you're standing quite close to said fence.

Still a damn sight easier on the 'hot side' though...
