All padded up and still couldn't feel my hands, or legs.

My face was freezing too from the gap between my chin and the front of the helmet.

Who does what to combat?

I'd recommend a Buff neck tube.

HM Supplies do exothermic foot and hand warmers for £1.25, they last 5 hours (charcoal based I think). Silk glove liners are £10 and they work well.

Also check out Helly Hansen's base layer range, great summer wear with wicking material, similar products for winter. They are tight fitting and go well under leathers.

Worst case (bare the shame) use some of your missus tights or leggings. They work a treat, trust me.

Buff neck collar and Foggy's are good for the head area, just watch that the Foggy doesnt suffocate you over 160!

Alternatively, buy a car.

You're right - I've had to put away my airflow jacket and get out my leather one - it's dropped to 22 degrees celsius at night here (Hong Kong) - brrrrrrrrrr!

P.S. Sorry boys . . .

Mrs C, tired of my moaning, bought me a thermal roll-neck from Marks'....that together with my neck fleece, foggy mask, think textile suit and I'm just about ok. The 3inch hole in each glove doesn't help, nor the fact that my boots are still damp from Friday (she won't let them in the house), but you struggle on eh!!

I'm OK, Hein Gericke suit for the fuller figure + HG pathan cloves and heated grips. Warm as toast.

Eat more pies

But seriously - Neck tubes help. Not yet cold enough, but when it gets really bad I have one of those wind block fleeces for the body & some thermal long johns. When it gets really cold 2 pairs of thin socks rather than 1 thick & thin silk inner gloves are worth a try.

My (prehistoric, worn in the days when bikes had chrome and twin shocks ) Centurion Firebird lid had a narrow chinpiece which meant that my neck would freeze so I wore a tube.
My new AGV is a lot deeper across the chin and that combined with the screen means I hardly get any wind on my neck at all.
However the permanent vents on the sides of the AGV (an S4) mean I get two cold spots on my bonce... moan

I got a neck tube that can pull over my chin on Monday and I'm totally converted: no draft round the back of my neck and my chin & nose are nice n warm now.

I keep the vents shut on my lid and have put the lining into my jacket now: I generally wear a t-shirt and jumper now and have a pair of trousers or jeans underneath my textile leggings; still got the option for the thermal lining for them too.

Switched over to a set of winter gloves and I wear Sidi Black Rain Evo boots which are excellent. The winter gloves I got are nice and warm, but they can leak slightly around the cuffs which sucks as everything else I have keeps me bone dry so must do better.
