My alarm keeps going off and cannot be stopped by using the remote. The remote locks and unlocks but does not stop the siren going off.
I ended up disconnecting the battery, it still carried on for a while to a lesser extent but eventually stopped.
I rang a Meta specialist and for a fix/replacement, they are apparently doing a deal at the moment - it will cost £264.34 including VAT and fitting for an updated replacement - apparently the model is rather old. Mine, according to the service history is a Meta M99T. Its a '96 car.

Does this sound about right in terms of coast etc? Orrrr not....

Thanks.
They do look very good but quite a trek. I'm in Bristol. It looks like they also recommend upgrading to the T2 model

it's not a dodgy connector to the horn unit is it.....I had this and had the same symptoms - it was just inside the opening at the front - just follow the wire from the back of the siren ?

Just unplug the siren!

That also reminds me to contact Carl, IIRC he owes me an email!

That's why I called him mate. He admited to being a bit delinquent on 'paperwork' recently and has taken tomorrow off to catch up - expect something soon from him.

Had exactly the same issue with my Griff, luckily picked up a Fiat Meta alarm system on ebay for peanuts which had exactly the same sounder unit - keep an eye out on there.

PS: Anyone want a Fiat Meta immobiliser system - sounder missing? hehe

Went to see Carl at www.tvruk.tv/ yesterday.
We broke down half hour into our journey - splutter splutter then came to a halt - after searching for the prob and no luck, the AA man tuned up only to find it was a loose connector going into thc coil!! Ahhhhh!!!! which seems to have fixed my Rev counter aswell (which had been going nuts for the last few weeks) rolleyes such simple things banghead oh well.

Got to Carl 2 hours late but he fitted the new siren plus a little fiddle with my radio all for £99+VAT.
It hasn't gone off yet (touch wood) - very pleased and a pretty good drive back accross salisbury plain..
