Managed to get a set of four at a good price. Anyone else have these on their car? They're N rated so Porsche approved and also have a good review on paper - just wondered if anyone had any real life experience.

I had S02 on front and S02A on back when i got my 993tt - found them very good wet and dry, nice and progressive when they eventually let go, and not too noisy, they just disappeared a little too quickly for me.

I have them on my 4S (as I think they were the original fitments and it just seemed easier to continue replacing them as needed as I havent been able to get all 4 worn out at the same time) and although I dont drive like a maniac(too often)their wet and dry grip is fine and they last well and seem quiet enough to me.

I've heard that they provide better grip than other brands but that wear is not as good. I'm going to give them a try and see if I notice the improvment in grip versus my Pirellis...

I've had a couple of sets of SO2A's on my 993 turbo and they've been great. On my spare set of hollow spokes I've had SO2's fitted to see what they are like but they won't go on the car for a few weeks.

Got a good deal from www.mytyres.co.uk

They were the cheapest I could find on t'internet so I'm fairly pleased. I have to get them fitted myself, but that shouldn't be a problem. (I don't suppose the cost of a new set of shoes for a 911 is ever going to make you too full of joy.....!)

They're what I've got, great tyres and a nice colour.

nope grumpy

but I'd still plump for Conti Sports over the S-02As

If they were S-02s then it would be a different story...

I've only ever used Pirellis so dont know anything about Contis or the difference between S-02 and S-02A. Can you elaborate please...

In 993tt sizes i could only ever get S02 (N2) for the front and S02A (N2 again) for the rear. I didn't think they did the S02 in the right fitment for the rear (285/30R18).

Either way, the Conti SportContact2 N2 gripped as well in wet or dry, were as quiet, but lasted longer.

And the Pirellis i've had (Nero and Rosso) were poor by comparison.

S02's were done in the 285/30/18 size for years. I've had a couple of sets on mine. Now have Conti's. Very happy.

I take everything back about S-02A I've got S-02 on mine.

Really happy with them, one of the reasons I'm still alive.

I've run Contis on a C2 and I couldn't ask more of a tyre - really impressed with it in all conditions.

I've run S-02s and S-02As on another car, and whilst the S-02A were good the softer compound of the S-02s made them, for me, a better tyre. I'd say the S-02A and Contis are about the same compound.

I've run Pirelli Directionale/Assimetrico on my RS and they were ok, the Rossos I'm running now aren't much better - can't wait to ditch them next year for either the S-02s or Contis unless someone can recommend Mich Pilot Sports (non cup)...

Great!
Can someone please show me how to do doughnuts confused before I change my tyres then?
