Grabbing now, never used this torrent stuff before (i'm an easynews kinda guy) but just grabbed something to allow me to download.
It says i need to open ports etc to get higher speeds but i'm not going to bother with all that
so currently it is sitting between 30/40 kbs and is going to take a couple of hours now.

Same here. It will go up and down the more or less other people are online.

Does that mean it's only me and you downloading this from the UK then at the moment?
I only see 2 UK flags out of 50 or 60 people listed, both using blueyonder, so i assume one of them is me.

Ow!

Ps. From postings I think the normal cockpit Motec (rev counter etc..) doesn't work, but if you use the rFactor HUD overlay you won't need it anyway.

PPS. This is a big install, what I'll do is create a new desktop folder and install to that first to see what's what. There may be some tracks in the pack and you might already have them so don't need to overwrite.

Ok cheers for the heads up.

Damn this torrent thing is slow, feels like going back to a 14.4!
It's on about 80% and will be finished in about.....*me checks*......July.

EDIT.

Well, despite my uploads having been on almost 50kbs for the entire time,
i am now on 90% download and am lucky to get 0.1 kbs down.
ETA is 2 weeks and one day for the last 10%.

Is this what torrents are like normaly or does opening ports etc make them max out connections?
If not, how do people put up with it, or do they just leave them downloading
and go away on holiday etc?
This file would have taken me under 10 minutes to get normaly lol.

Depends how many people are seeding currently only the original host is I think, everyone else is downloading. As soon as someone complete their download and continues to seed then the download rates will increase as more people seed when finished as well, it's how Bittorrents work.

I'm at 365mb dowloaded and an ETA of 1hr and getting between 17-49kB/s

Just noticed, the original seeder (X-zibit A) is offline, the person who started it. It'll be back up when he's back online.

Anyone downloading it and getting to 90% will be able to continue when he's back up.

You would have thought they'd have set a few machines up seeding for a few days to get us going..

He's probably away from his machine and it's probably gone off-line. It'll be back, he's put too much time and effort into this to mess around.

It's Thanksgiving in the US so I guess he'd been away and it disconnected, back up now and working again.

I'm on 95% now but speeds are going from 5kbs to 40 odd.
One minute it's going to finish in 8 minutes, the next it's back
to being over an hour lol.

He said - "Cable Modem reset itself while I was away."

Just let it build back some speed. I'm back up to 22k+
