Hubby has started cleaning and polishing the car so that it will look its best on Sunday for the London Thunder, nothing unusual there you might say, but I came home last night and there he was with the car jacked up. He had taken all the wheels off, so he could put some stuff on to make the backs of the wheels all lovely and shiny. I think this is going a bit too far, or should I look out for more odd behaviour? rofl

It sounds like very strange behaviour.

Why doesn't he get the wife to clean the car like the rest of us? confused

Get hubby to lengthen the chain then you can do the dishes in the bucket.

After cleaning the car not before

Personally, if I had time to clean the backs of the wheels, I'd find better use of that time going for a hoon.

Hi there Mrs derekg500 here! It is perfectly normal TVR owners behaviour from what I've noticed! Yes, wheels off for cleaning/polishing IS normal PLUS carpeted garage walls, nicking the leather lounge suite cleaner for the leather seats, using my finest cleaning cloths, having to wash the TVR teddy BY HAND and with fabric softener . . . . need I go on? Plus there's the exclusion zone around the car once all the cleaning, cooing and caressing has been completed . . . no rain, no pigeons, no touching and DEFINITELY no cats snuggling up on the roof!! Wouldn't have it any other way though cos I love our Grrrrrrriff just as much! PS I'm no damn good at cleaning/waxing/polishing cars so I'm included on the exclusion zone list

Hi to you Mrs Derekg500, nice to talk to another lady, I'm new to this but I figured if you can't beat them, join them!

The garage floor has been painted a glossy grey to compliment the blue car and yes the carpeted garage walls have been mentioned, which I don't think is a bad idea, if ever I drive the car, I want to be sure I don't scratch the wing mirror when backing into the garage. I've also been asked if I can steam clean the carpets on (I think it's called) the parcel shelf, and the footwells. I may do it tomorrow for him if he's good.

When I was a VW owner I cleaned the car when the white back turned black.

When I was an Alfa Romeo owner I cleaned it once a week and polished it monthly

Now I'm a TVR owner it gets cleaned and polished weekly

At an MG Owners Club do I discovered a stand that sold a brush to clean the inside of the exhaustpipe. Scary or what?

I think a glossy red floor with a think coating of filler dust would be more in keeping with a garage containing a TVR.

Nothing abnormal about the behaviors observed, no need for the men in white coats just yet.

BTW: ladies are always warmly welcomed to PH so... "How're you doin'?" angel

Hi Griff Bitch wavey Welcome to PH - love the name BTW!! There has been even worse stuff - like getting rid of the shingle driveway and having block paving in preparation for the Griff's arrival and rewiring the garage (Mr derekg500 is a sparky) of the person who very kindly Tivsits for us over winter! I think this really should be recognised as a new religion/cult - TIV WORSHIP . . . .but it's not just on Sundays! lol! Mmmmmmmm . . . bit worried that hubby might read the bit about you steam cleaning the carpets and get ideas . . . .mind you, I have a tendency to shrink things!!!!!!! Hope to catch ya on Sunday and we can compare further notes! Kind Regards, Gail

Nah, that doesnt sound like an exclusion zone.

What you need is a Sagaris. That really does have an exclusions zone...mostly because you step within one foot of mine and it sets the alarm off! I swear my car does it on purpose sometimes Scares the sh1t out of those who lean in for a closer look
