Well after being away on business in the US all last week and then BT&P, this has been my first chance in 10 days to get on the bike. So decided to go for my first evening ride - an hours ride in the dark and in the rain. What fabulous fun!!!!!

Thought I'd be a little scared but it's such fun and you can see cars far more easily and they can see me. Went down the coast road through Poole and Bournemouth .....

... I love biking!!!!!!

Cool, still enjoying it and rubber side down too!

Don't be fooled into thinking your seen because of the lights. My missus followed me home from the rail station recently (after bringing me the spare keys, because mine we're still in the office 50 miles away,AHEM...), and she said that from some angles I was almost invisible.

Well, I tell you. At 17 stone, I took this as a compliment :-) Nevertheless she had a point, so a reflective yellow tabard, etc were duly purchased.

Good point. My jacket has lots of reflective piping in it BUT apparently blue reflective is the way to go these days. Yellow is so yesterday

Most standard bike lights are crap.
If your doing lots of night time stuff a HIDS conversion is worth considering, but at the least go for better bulbs e.g. OSRAM Silver Star.
