What was i going to post about again?Oh yes,memory!.I have 512 mb of Crucial pc3200 ddr400 non-eec ram in my pc,i want to add another 512mb-1gb of ram.Is it ok to mix this Crucial ram with new cheaper stuff or is it best to keep to the same brand?

I use crucial or samsung branded exclusivly, it's only a little dearer and I won;t touch cheap RAM as RAM is PITA to troubleshoot if the system starts playing up.

Should keep to similar RAM. 2x 512 sticks.

You then know that they'll be completely compatible with each other.

Its not really a problem mixing ram stick despite all the worry mongers, I have been doing ti for years and have never had a problem. Doh. Anyway, if you are looking for maximum performance then yes get matched pairs but there will be little in it. However if you are just wanting better performance from windows and other less processor intensive programs then fire away. As for cheaper ram doesnt work as well I know a few manufacturers that would argue that point.

I'd avoid cheap memory, through experience it only costs more in the long run...
