Just fitted a new Fan Sensor, which requires removal of air box lid. I was very supprised to find so much muck on the Butterflys and around the inlet tract of the throttle bodys themself's.

I fitted Sensor, cleaned out air box base, refitted air filter on to box base before attaching lid, then realised the filter will not fit the filter box base correctly as air box seems out of shape slightly. This is why i think there is a litter excess muck inside.

The air box itself is very thin, there is a latch on the outside center, motor side,to the rear of this is were air box is pushing out slightly, and i can not reach between air box and throttlebodys to try and push in base of box before fastening latches to get a better seal.

Anybody ever noticed this and found a solution!

One more question!

Living in IOM i have never joined AA or RAC! Do you think this would be a good idea in partically with doing this weekend! My quess is it would!

If so who is best or are they similer.

Which cover is best as there is quite a few options.

Thanks

What you are looking at there is 3p's worth of crap plastic, shame TVR charge £330 for a new one.

The failings you highlight are well known. Others are airbox fouling wiper linkage, airbox breaking apart, pipe joints breaking off, etc etc.

There is a carbonfibre one being moulded as I type so by next week we should hopefully have a prototype ready for fitting.

if your really lucky all the edges start coming off the air filter

deffo worth getting AA recovery, that will take it to a specialist and not just to a local garage.
