Seat belts

Oh well, at least its a small part thats broken now. The inertia reel on the drivers side has packed up. Any one know what its off so I can salvage one from a breakers?

Also, thanks for all the posts. Got all the power back once I had discovered that cylinders 2 and 4 were wired the wrong way round. That made quite a big difference!

James when I needed a new seat belt part the breakers I phoned would not sell them because of the "safety" issues in supplying such an item.

From memory the factory wanted in the region of £160 for a complete inertia reel and locking/clasp etc.

Thanks HBeck, what did you do? Go with the factory? Seems a lot for what is probably a ford bit you could steal off a fiesta or something.

James, I needed a new seatbelt "stalk" as the casing around the red button was spilt/broken. Couldn't find out what car it was from and wasn't going to pay dealer price for a complete new inertia reel etc.., so just applied electrical tape to hold the casing together.

Has anyone fitted racing belts and if so, what's involved?

Got a new seatbelt from Douglas valley they are a breakers yard with lots of TVR parts cost about £80 got the number somewere if you need it

Cheers guys, now fixed. The inertia reel was fine, it was just getting snagged - now located the snagging and removed the impediment!
