ok so the KA is 3years old and my licence is now clean.
dear old dad has got him self a nice but dull Lexus 430sc at aroung 25k through the buisness and soon the time is coming up when he will say son (yes pappy) its time you got a new car. hes thinking company VW or skoda by now, but hey my names above the door to so im in for the fight. 15-18k 2nd hand tomora or i tell mam! lol
now the only thing he knows of TVR is the chime' that was always broken next door so this aint going to be easy.
what should i look out for when buying a tom ?
the other worry is that it will be left parked up faceing the good old north, how much of a problem will this be ?
my 3yr old KA has ROTTED too death and has had its engine managment light on more times than the indercator banghead
any help or tips would be great thanks

There are a few good Tamoras for sale in your price bracket at the moment, e.g. Nubbin's Euro Hooning machine.
Best advice is go and have a look at a few - it's the best way to get a feel for what makes a good 'un IMO.

PS Some TVR owners don't like silly abbreviations such as Tom, Chime, Griff, etc.

keep the KA for when its snowy/wet/cold or your hung over as the TVR will be grumpy and requires concentration to keep in a straight line!

cheers. closest TVR garage is Harrogate, 45mins away.
theres another good question, private or trade ?
have been looking into a 1.3i 106 ralley as a track dog, could be a good snow and ice dog too.
how well will the tamora weather un garaged next to the sea ? altho redcar is always sunny
oh tamora on track , fun or fragile ?

I have a T350 which is a complete hoot on the track and not fragile at all. There is also a chap who uses the same dealer as me with a T350 on 50k miles who does several track days a year.

Agreed, the T350 is a hoot on track. Look at the Top Gear/Evo laptiimes charts to see they're not too shabby. The engine suits itself perectly to the track IMO.
