I have a b model zx9r and want to change the standard exhaust can. How is this done as all the cans I keep seeing are just the can where mine is conected to a short pipe. Are you are to cut the standard can off or do you have to find one with additional piece of pipe??

Sorry if this is a bit of a numpty question but dont want to get it worng

cheers

Standard cans are generaly riveted to a link pipe. When replcing a can you have to buy a link pipe to go with it. My zorst came from Campbell customs so no link pipe was required.

Hope this helps,

If your can has a flange on it and attaches to the pipe chances are the replacement will be a bolt on part.

On other bikes like my SV you have to hacksaw the pipe. The can is connected with a tube that slides over the old pipe and is tightened with a bolt. The manufactuer supplies a 'link pipe' so you can connect the standard exhaust back up if needed.
