V Power Diesel

Sounds good to me (apart from the 6p/litre more) and the possible misfuelling issue for some. (and the limited availability)

But it doesnt claim to have any performance benefits at all, its just got an injector cleaner in it. You can get that anywhere for your diesel.

It has the benefit of not dirtying your oil as fast, which is one BIG benefit. It's not a refined product like conventional DERV, it's synthetic, produced from liquified gas. It produces few or no particulates (soot), and burns very evenly and cleanly.

Run your mota on this, and it will p though the MOT emissions test.

It also powered the winning Audi LMP1 cars (the R10) at LeMans if you didn't already know it.

So, more than just injector cleaner.

A sort of Optimax for "weisels"

Hmm, looks like I was mistaken then. Trouble is, my Furby has to run exclusively on company Total.

been using it for about 2 years (i think)

seems to be a bit better all round, could be just placebo effect, but it costs a good bit more. i use it mainly cos i don't pay for it and i get 5 shell clubsmart points per litre instead of 1
petty, i know

So it's a GTL fuel, eh. More of those in the pipeline, methinks. Did the Le Mans Audi's use the everyday stock pump fuel or a "version" of it ? Suspect it was the latter and that they use different versions for different circuits/conditions etc. I know that all the F1 teams use special fuel brews that bear only minimal relationship to road fuel; i.e. they are very special chemical formulations tailored to requirements : altitude/circuit/testing/engine test/race etc, all logged with the FIA.

Whatever, may give it a go in the Furby.

According to Shell's website, the Audi was running on stock V-Power Diesel.

I agree with your comments about F1 fuel. Nasty nasty stuff. Don't dip your fingers in it!!

About the Audi le mans team running it. . they did to an extent. It was the same stuff but with a percentage of ethanol The problem is they neverlet on what the percentage was! Probably so peugeot cant get total to make the same!
