Exe opening wrong thing..

Im running VMWare Server because I wanted to try Ubuntu.... nothing unusual there.
I go and download a trial version of Photomatix Pro, as I wanted to give some HDR photography a try.
Now it installs ok, but when I run the exe for Photomatix it is opening the install for VMWare... which erm, has me stuck. The actual install file is long gone... when it gets to the point where it looks for files its looking in temp files and says it cant be found, no surprise there.
If you cancel this it just starts again. End the process for the exe file and it all stop.
Any suggestions are welcome as this has me pretty stuck
