I'm experiencing a mild vibration through the steering wheel at speed. The vibration comes in at about 60-70mph, last for a few seconds before going away, and then comes back again a few seconds later. The car's still fairly new to me, so I haven't had the guts (or the appropriate weather) to take it much above 80-90 to see if it goes away.

It's had new Toyos on the front, new discs and pads all round. Is it the tracking? Do they all do that? Is it just me?? confused

Probably front wheels out of balance, take the car to a reputable tyre place, they should sort it out for less than a tenner

Have the discs been put on cleanly? Any dirt caught when fitting the new ones will create wobble also.

As far as my experience goes with wheel balancing you either get (1) the complete imbecile and never go there again; (2) the reasonably competent, enthusiastic (when they see the TVR roll in) amateur who only knows how to put weights on the outside of the rim (rolleyes), or (3) you take it somewhere skilled in balancing high performance alloy wheels, with the right kit and weights that can be stuck inside the hidden flat area of the rim. I'd start by giving your local TVR dealer a call and ask them if they can do it or recommend somewhere. Weights crimped onto the outside rim of alloy wheels are a real eyesore, IMHO of course
