Lovely noise! Can this/should this be replicated on a 993tt?

Should I leave the standard noise alone on my TT? CANNOT make my mind up but this is after having twin Hayward & Scot's on my 964. Maybe I should just grow up...

Any thoughts for a 'classy' but 'raspy' exhaust upgrade fo the 993 TT? Cheers!

I had Hayward and Scott silencers on my GT3 when I purchased it, (and they were the first thing to come off it too ...........................must be getting old!)

The TT can be improved but it'll never sound as "crisp" as a N/A car as ther turbos themselves have a silencing effect.

You know I want it on every now and again but not all the time! Can the 996 switch be fitted to a 993 TT do you know?

That's what the smiley was supposed to do

There is another way forward though. Sell the 993 and get yourself a 996 TT. Then you can bolt one of these on it (not cheap mind you ) yikes www.kreissieg-usa.com/index.php?page=model&brid=3&mid=25&cid=38&oid=39&typ=f

You'd best start sweet talking "her indoors" !!

Unfortunately 993tt exhaust will never sounds as good as the n/a 993 with an equivalent exhaust. I tried muffler bypasses, RSR's, and Techart 100 cells and sports exhausts, and kept the Techarts because they worked beautifully with my RS ecu but it still never sounded quite right.

Best sounding 993tt i've ever heard is Martyn's (MOD500). Still not quite like my n/a with RSR's, but as close as you're ever gonna get.

Oh, and he's got about twice the power i've got, which i'm sure makes up for the noise

Thanks guys- only kidding Slippy I need someone to get me off this trail before it gets too expensive!! Only just changed to this so her indoors is highly unlikely to allow me to change again but I love the car anyway- the pursuit for total perfection in one car is a fruitless one I suspect which is why we all need 3 or 4 or more for each occasion!!

I've just had Cargraphics fitted to my 993tt James and I love 'em. Lovely rumble at idle and low revs turning to a raspy sort of howl at higher revs - all sounding very cultured! btw - this is all with the windows DOWN, with them up just about everything is muffled by the turbos, as I believe would be the same with just about any silencers. I think with all 993's the people who benefit most are those on the road side!

Used to have RSR's on a 993 carrera and from what I've read these don't work half as well on the TT.

IMO Cargraphics sound better than the RSR's anyway - creamier hmmmm!
