Looking for a GOOD quality, robust laser printer ideally up to A3 but A4 will do - not a great deal of volume - but quality must be A1 - new only - perplexed by the choices available - any advice would be most welcome.

I'd always go for a hot wax/solid printer over acolour laser Xerox Phaser's are the best imho but others will be along shortly

I agree actually, I really like the finish that the wax phasers leave on the paper!

If print quality is the one priority then I agree with Greenlandy, a Phaser

I'd also add steer clear from the Cheaper HP ones they are fairly good but cost more to run than a V8 Rangerover.

You can pretty much apply that formula to any printer. Cheap printer, expensive consumables. Expensive printer, Cheap(er) consumables. Just remember with Wax printers, 1. they take a little while to warm up, not a problem during the week if it is left on. 2. They don't like being moved around if they are warm, again not a problem if you are happy with where they are sited, but just things that you should know before making the purchase.(especially if yor business is time critical).
