Just got my 1st Carrera 4S on 2002 plate, what a superb motor. I bought it from a Mercedes main dealer who had taken it in as a p/ex and they have just done the RMS seal and i told them to put a new clutch in at the time. How much do you think a car like this is worth (before I disclose what price I paid!) as I think I got it for a good price.
Its on a 02 Plate
3 prev owners
NO Sat Nav (unfortunatley)
Silver with Manual g box
Full Service History although 1 wasnt OPC but I do have receipts confirming Porsche parts used.
19" 997 wheels
25000 miles
Full MOT and just serviced at OPC

Thanks guys

Richard

Hiya.

Wouldn't have a clue about the price, sensible getting the clutch done though.

Hiya, I actually got it for £36500, which I thought was a great price, especially as it has come with a 12mth warranty as well. I only knew about the clutch idea thanks to this site, so thanks guys.

Not bad at all. Nice. Welcome to the boards with the new wheels, and I'm delighted to note that even though you got your car at a Merc dealer, it's manual equipped. Perhaps that explains why it was so reasonable? I doubt anyone at a Mercedes outfit would know what to do with a car that wasn't steered by remote control. I'm sort of picturing the scene from 2001, with the apes replaced by Mercedes salesmen, the monolith with your car, and the bone with a gearknob.

A very good deal indeed. Please post some pictures. I want to see what the C4S looks like with the 19" 997 wheels.

Do you think that 1 service not been at OPC, (but ive receipts confirming porsche parts used) is an issue?

not now that is 4 years old, do you have a Porsche warranty on it or the Merc dealer one?

great price by the way and if it is an 02 plate (rather than 52 plate) then you are better off withut the PCM as it is the dodgy looking PCM1 with a tape player!

Get a sports exhaust fitted right now!

That is a really good price ouch.
Same sort of spec as mine, but silver and I paid a fair bit more than that in June.

Is it an OPC warranty or aftermarket. I guess it must be aftermarket coming from Merc.

No it is not OPC warranty, but I can take it anywhere to get repaired. Doesnt concern me too much as it was serviced at OPC the day before I got it and got full bill of health.

Does anyone know if I go into any OPC, will they have all the history (i.e all work done by any OPC) since my car was made? Can you get a print out of this, just for my records?

Pork GB certainly should have the information. Whether they release the details to you is another matter as it will be protected by the data protection act. Got to be worth a try though
