It also made the news in Germany www.spiegel.de/auto/aktuell/0,1518,450824,00.html amazing really because I saw very little coverage in the UK.

Anyone else noticed that the BBC article online has a link to the petition? May be a bit late though!

If everyone on PH went to news.bbc.co.uk and clicked on that article, it would surely make it onto the "most read" list!

ah, bugger, the story has been dropped from the London page so go direct to http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/la

Did the petition get handed in? I'm sure someone said yesterday evening that they missed the allocated time, or something like that?

As mentioned in the other thread, we also have a big, excellent photo on page 2 of the FT!

It is very well timed, on a day when the front page of the FT.com website is carrying a story about businesses moving out of the UK for tax reasons.

with a bit of babelfish-ing...........

Altogether 479 owners of sports car drove on Sunday with their car by the Londoner city center, in order to present at the office of the British prime minister Tony Blair into the Downing Street a Petition.

Hundreds of drivers of a TVR sports car demonstrated in London with a Autokorso for the preservation of the work in Blackpool and at the same time also a record broke. Altogether 479 owners of sports car drove on Sunday with their car by the Londoner city center, in order to present at the office of the British prime minister Tony Blair into the Downing Street a Petition. In it they request the government to use itself for the receipt of the factory and the 260 jobs. Some the TVR worker from Blackpool rode along as front seat passengers in the Korso.

With the autoparade the TVR fans broke a record at the same time: It was the largest Korso of only one automodel. So far Mazdafahrer of New Zealand held the record; they had brought it however only on 249 vehicles.

"it was an extraordinary success - regarding the record, in addition, in view to think humans to give", supervisor commentated David Hughes. He hopes, the Autokorso gave "the public, above all however to the government, sufficiently motivation to examine whether they cannot do possibly somewhat, around the management from TVR to to help".

The work in Blackpool is to be closed, since the company plans a misalignment into another European country. Hopes that the enterprise in the possession of the Russian businessman Nikolai Smolenski could move to another place in Blackpool, had recently smashed themselves, as if some workers to dismiss became.
