Good audio editing program....preferably freeware / GPL

[beanbag]

Hello all,

Can anyone recommend a good audio editing program for Windows? I used to use SoundForge while at uni but it was a cracked copy and since I don't want to reinstall it and crack it, I'd like to go legal and find something free or very cheap but good.

Ideas?!

Ta!

Hmmmm

I tried Audacity, but I thought it was a bit crap to be honest. I found a trial of SoundEdit Pro and for $49 it's not too bad I guess, but still.....

Not much else mentioned on that thread either. Any other suggestions?
