We were the last car to leave the 4 lane carpark in the middle of Witehall.

As we were approaching the car a copper aked me to move the car "as it looks a bit conspicuous".
There's me now thinking "hold on, there are TVR's driving to the left of us, TVR's driving to the right of us, TVR's doing 'U'turns infront and behind us, and he says I look conspicuous.

For me it was when speaking to two of the factory guys, one of the top coat spayers and the Union representative and they both said "Only one word to describe the day and that is awesome, something we will remember for the rest of our lives......"

For me that summed up what the day was about, showing the workers that their work is much appreciated and admired by the owners, glad they enjoyed the day bow

Was thoroughly taken aback by a gang of Youtes in their Chavved-up Focus at one set of lights on the Westway as they pulled up alongside:

"D'ya wanna race mate?"

"Erm, no thank you."

"Just as well, as you'd fcensoreding piss on us! How many litres mate?"

"Four and a half V8"

"Fcensoredk me, awesome! Fcensoreding awesome. What a noise."

"Thankyou!"

Needless to say I felt obliged to give it large off from the lights, despite the overheating! hehe Respect from Chavmobiles?! What is the world coming to?!

I had several interesting quotes from pedestrians:

- (from an extremely posh lady) "lovely car - is it a Ford?" (I put her straight.......)
- lots of 'beautiful car' quotes, but that's nothing new.

but the one that made me smile was from a guy about 35:

- "aren't you too old for that car?" laugh

That's great to hear, Mike.

A close colleague of mine who is reasonably well connected claims that someone he knows "is trying to save the factory". Not sure how much I believe him but I will send him the e-mail I sent you earlier (admittedly conaining a lot of the links you provided) and get him to send it on - all the publicity can only help egg the guy on.

My factory passenger was asked by an extremely well spoken middle-aged lady in Whitehall what the rally was all in aid of. He explained about the closure of production at the TVR car plant, to which she replied, 'TVR? Who are they affiliated to, then?' Ah, bless

Whilst sat at the lights at Westminster a pretty blonde lady walks up to the front of the car, leans on the front wing, whilst her BF/hubby takes pics!! Then she turns round smiles (v.cute), waves and merges back into the crowd!!!

The TVR worker in my car was absolutely amazed and quote " They don't do that in Blackpool!"

What a day, I wanna go for a driving

Pics although none of the blonde lady

Funnily enough, after my very first Griff test drive, back in 1992, a young lad came over while I was sat in the car and asked me what I thought of the car. I could only utter one word. And that word was awesome.

Lady driver in Whitehall asked what it was about.

I said "Trying to save the factory and keep TVR British".

"I should think so, too", she said in a very posh voice.

Not exactly a quote but did manage to get a whole top level of an open top bus to laugh at me. Do you think it had anything to do with having the roof down but the umbrella up to ward off the rain??

I had a couple of older ladies approach us as we waved our flags along Piccadilly. They came from Blackpool and said how nice it was to see all the cars.

No quote of the day had to be from the original route plan.(On the way back up whitehall the three cars carrying the petition will stop at the gates of downing street, and deliver the petition. There will be a photo opportunity for these three cars outside the gate but you are advised to keep moving,so as not to bring the traffic to a halt)roflroflroflroflroflrofl
