I have just received the following email from the TVR workers who attended yesterday.

"Everyone who travelled down to London on Sunday would just like to convey to
you all, a very, very
big THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! and for making it possible for us to be part of,
what was a THUNDEROUS day, a day that will live with us for the rest of our
lives. One hell of a gig.
The only way that we can explain the experience of actually being there, is
AWESOME, absolutely AWESOME.
To us, the day was just like a huge FAMILY gathering. Owners, enthusiasts,
workers and families all together, one big TVR family.

And may we extend our thanks to;
All the owners who kindly allowed us to share their cars for what was a
tremendous experience.
To everyone for their kind words of support, kind thoughts and generous
hospitality.
To all those who made many of our dreams come true.
And last but not least, to the organisers, for taking on such a mammoth task
and, through their hard work and effort, making the idea become reality.

Congratulations to all the owners taking part in achieving the World Record,
no mean task, a fabulous effort.

Due to an accident on the M1, we didn't arrive home until 2am but hey,
didn't matter, we were still on such a high after the days events, that we
would have walked home.
When we eventually arrived home, I don't think many of us could sleep
anyway, we were still reflecting on what a fantastic experience and
achievement we had just been a part of.

Please accept all our gratitude and appreciation, and we hope to see you all
again very soon.

From
All your family here in Blackpool."

No thanks required guys, not from you to us at least. I've always felt privileged owning a TVR, and never more so than yesterday; I'm just glad I made it and was able to show some support.

That's an infinitely better phrase than ones like "brand" and "outsourcing" cry irked

Must have been an amazing occasion, feel I missed something not managing this or the Blackpool factory run

Thanks to all the people who spent their working days creating dreams rather than being cogs in the system churning out appliances.

Superb. Wish I'd known which guys they were to have been able to talk to them! But if we helped improve life for them even a little bit, that's a good thing and a very small repayment for the joy they have brought to ours.

I must say, with that sort of attitude from them and enthusiasm from us, surely there must be someone in or close to the trade out there who could take them on post consultation and give us V8s with lots of the other characteristics of the cars we have loved...

BTW how many workers were there in the end, KirstM?

It was an absolute honour to be part of yesterday, something I think all of us will remember forever. To receive a message like that from the factory workers really brought a smile (and nearly a tear) to know that the workers enjoyed it and can see how much their work means to the owners just tops it off.

Its been emotional...............

What a beautifully worded letter. Makes me feel privileged to be thought of as part of their family. The Blackpool guys and girls I managed to speak to yesterday in London were themselves awesome - charming, friendly and so appreciative of our efforts in the face of such personal adversity. I have utter respect for every one of them. clap Just a bloody pity certain other individuals don't.

We were stuck in the traffic jam, alongside one of the worker's coaches on the way home last night

Still can't get over the fact that THEY applaud us??!!!
(I felt proud just to be alongside them in the queue!!bowbow)

What other car company would have it's workers banging on the windows, clapping and waving at you, with such an obvious sense of pride?

It's a crying shame how they've been treated

Yes indeed we were there to support our friends from the factory,it was your day.Londoners could not believe what they were seeing in whitehall. TVRs everywhere never been known before,it was just like a car park in outside Downing street.I asked a policeman could I do a u turn this was right outside downing st[ONE WAY ONLY] he said I dont think youve got room.Full lock round we went.Policeman big smile on his face.On another day we would have been locked up for that!!! Anyway our very best wishes to you all.GOOD LUCK TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU.

As far as I am concerned the whole day was for us (the owners) to thank the TVR workforce.

I drove Joyce (17 years doing bodywork for TVR and never been in one) around yesterday and from the time she got in the car to when I dropped her back at the Ace she had a huge smile on her face and thoroughly enjoyed the trip through London. Seeing the look on her and others faces was certainly enough thanks for me.

Dear TVR family.

Everyday I get in my car,and thats every day of the week,I am reminded of the intelligence skill and passion that has gone into her and has made her a part of my life. She is more than a car-she's got soul and you amazing people put it there.
Its a privilage to own her.

God bless you all and good luck to you in the future!
