First off, hello all, just ventured into the VAG for the first time having bought a Passat V6 4motion at the weekend. wavey

First impressions are that it's a much bigger car than what I'm used too, but has a definate luxury feel to it. Even with the size it has an impressive amount of grunt once moving, and the 4 wheel drive is great fun, especially in this weather! And the interior..... lick

Having said all of that, it does have one annoying habit. If I'm in traffic or from initial pull away in first gear, as soon as I dip the clutch to change gear and lift off the accelerator the revs keep rising, very odd confused

This only seems to do it in first, and is getting very annoying and I'm sure sounds very silly from the outside! I can avoid it if I accel really gently and change into second almost immediately, but surely this can't be normal? Has anyone else experienced this, is this normal or should I be phoning my friendly dealer?

cheers thumbup

My 4motion used to do this very slightly (no more than 100/200 rpm) - solved once I'd changed the MAF.
To test, unplug it and run the engine briefly - if it runs no differently to when the MAF is connected then the MAF is not doing anything and needs replacing.
