Big Front Brakes For Me Wedgie

I've been rebuilding a Wedgie for some time,the rolling chassis i aquired has 300mm/22mm vented discs already fitted but i now need to know what front brake calipers i can fit with out too much hassle,it's still the standard upright with bolt fixings of approx 83mm centres,in PPC Will Holman fitted Mondeo calipers,has any one any ideas please,thanks pete.

I got a kit from Towerview a good few years ago. 300mm vented discs, Princess 4 pots and spacer plate for mounting. Unfortunately the spacer / mounting plate leaves the calipers off centre with the disc. The calipers were also extremely tight to the original 15" wheels. Still, far better brakes than the original.

Would be interested in other calipers if they were available.

Think my hi-specs (300x28 I think) have a caliper design based on a volvo 240. At least these are the pads used on them. The set came with a mounting bracket to be able to fit all correctly.
Perhaps it is possible to contact some brake suppliers and provide you with the proper caliper, bracket, pads etc.

You have to consider the whole system, the rear calipers also. Though it seems that the experienced racers have upgraded the fronts to incredible proportions without needing to change the rears. I guess this is because the rear calipers/disks are over spec. enough in standard form and are controlled by a G sensing actuator limiting their effectiveness to what is needed.

I understand the Princess calipers fitted to the bigger later monsters involved no other changes so could be retrofitted without fear of upsetting bias etc. Also some of the after market kits use the same piston areas so that dismisses that concern too.
