Sell it privately if it's genuinely worth £20k, then go back with a cash deposite and ask for a significant discount off the F355. You'll never get a true value for a convertable sports car in November, the dealer will think he's going to be stuck with it until the spring, but with that value, he clearly dosn't want your TVR at the moment!

As mentioned above, reading between the lines the dealer is basically saying he doesn't want it. Sell privately.

Stick it in the PistonHeads classified, i've just sold my Chimaera with a free advert and it was a very painless process. Even if you have to sell it below your original asking price, you'll recover the losses by discounting your purchase.

Thanks guys and yes the guy didnt want it. He was getting it underwritten and was being offered £11k. The F355 spider was a reasonable £40k but was a 1995. My Tam books in at a trade price of £17k. I at least expected trade money for what is a low mileage clean full service history car.

Im not even that bothered about selling it I just fancied treating myself. However I may look to place an ad or px for a sag.

do you really blame the ferrari dealer, given tvr's recent announcement...

tvr's haven't been selling well at tvr dealers, prior to the announcement..
He just got a price for it underwritten, any more than that is a risk to his business.

People seem to forget, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it...

With regards the post above - if anyone wants to sell their tam for 11k i'll have it and throw in a free grand. CAP guide is £17k and thats roughly what id expect. Especially when buying an 11 year old yellow Ferrari import with bright red leather.

New Labour is just the Ben Elton Party, all bitter and twisted when powerless and pennyless, as soon as the money starts rolling in the attitude strangely seems to change overnight.

Sadly, the economy is generating so much wealth that Tax & Spend is going un-noticed by most. If we were French, we'd have burnt down Parliament by now.

So true... Amazing how a property porftfolio and champagne lifestyle seems to alter these militant shop steward-would be anarchists... Next thing you know we'll be seeing left wing deputy prime ministers playing croquet!
